Got something to say?
Paid for by Manion for Congress
Mr.Manion, First, my condolences to you, your wife and family for the death of your beloved son. I think Letters from Travis was a good way to introduce yourself to the voters. Congressman Murphy has alot of money and exposure. People will be curious to know how you stand on:
Iraq war (get out the good news & our successes)
Offshore drilling, ANWAR, shale oil etc. (drill)
Illegal immigration (what happened to the wall?)
Health care ( Health Savings Accounts & torte reform)
Taxes ( keep the Bush tax cuts & don’t raise the capital gains tax)
Murphy voted for the Employee Free Choice act which denies the American voter a private ballot when voting for a union. To me that says it all. Fortunately, it failed, but that showed his self serving hand. You have my vote. Get out the word about how you are different from Murphy. Good luck, F.Haller
To the Manion family I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences. Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories of Travis with us. I know I speak for many other families who have also lost their loved one, who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
He is a hero, not just a number. I know what he meant by the numbers being notched at the Democratic headquarters in Doylestown.
I lost my husband in Viet Nam and everyday the newspapers would print the numbers, as if these guys were never live, healthy, young men. Young men who left home and families, enduring hardships we will never understand, so we could live in peace. These young men just became numbers.
I read the story in the courier today and if losing your son was not enough you now have to endure the hateful remarks by politicians who pretend to care more than you do about your son. Ironic that our heros fight for their right to say what ever they want.
Keep his name and story alive. We owe him that much.
God Bless you and your family
Travis was the epitomy of “LEADERSHIP” – he still is to this day. I couldn’t ask for a better role model for my son. Thank you for sharing these video’s with us – what a beautiful way to honor Travis. Travis and his zest for life will always live on.
All of you are in my prayers as always,
God Bless,
Heather
First off Sir, thank you and your son or your service to this country. I have linked this page from my website.
I wish I was a Pennsylvania resident in your district, because you would certainly have my vote. Not because I’m a Republican or Democrat, but because I’m an American.
What the Democratic Party has done to this country since just days after 9/11, is something that they will be judged for eventually. And while not all Democrats in the office currently have let members of our military down the vast majority have.
I only have to think of Jack Murtha and his disgraceful conduct regarding the Haditha Marines and ask myself, how can such a disgraceful politician be reelected.
In closing, God bless you Sir, and Godspeed we need good men and women in Congress.
As a member of the military with 32 years of service and a professor of graduate and undergraduate business, finance and economics, Tom Manion has the right strategic vision and approach for those issues that impact both our military and our economy.
Mr. & Mrs. Manion,
What a great tribute to Travis and all of the heroes who have served and given their lives in service to our country. I’m looking foward to the next parts of the video series. It brings back a lot of memories, all good, all meaningful, all in the spirit of the positive work that we did, and continue to do, in Iraq. Semper Fi Spartan! – Joel
To all readers:
I was lucky enough to get to know Travis as a Marine and friend. Marines and people in general do not come any better than Travis. He died a true heroe’s death in Iraq.
I was home on convalescent leave when I heard about Travis’s death. The day I was wounded in Fallujah, Travis was on the roof of a building, exposing himself to enemy fire so that I could be medically evacuated. Once home, I wanted to return to Iraq, to my Marines and to the Iraqi soldiers we were training and advising. When I heard about Travis, my motivation to return to Iraq increased ten-fold. I felt the best way to honor Travis and his example was to return to Iraq as soon as I was ready and continue the mission. Luckily, I was able to do that. When I returned to Iraq, I found that the Iraqi soldiers mourned Travis’s death as much as we Marines did. His leadership, character, bravery and sacrifice inspired us all.
I only knew Travis for a short time and he inspired me trememdously to return to the battlefield and continue to serve. I can truly relate to how Travis’s example is inspiring his father to continue to serve as well. Remember that Mr. Manion is not only a person running for congress, he is also a Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Anyone who questions Mr. Manion’s integrity or believes that he is “politicizing” his son’s death, is simpy wrong. It’s not a coincidence that Travis was a hero. His character was shaped by his parents, Tom and Janet Manion. Running for Congress is a way for Mr. Manion to honor his son and everything that his son represents: the best our country has to offer, integrity, bravery, dedication and the willingness to sacrifice oneself for the benefit of others.
Semper Fidelis,
Joel Poudrier
Dear Col and Mrs Manion,
Be advised, I will do all I can to help you win this November.
My heart aches for you for the loss of your beloved Travis. He was the absolute best this country has to offer – THE BEST!
Our country needs you Tom and I believe in my heart that GOOD will prevail in the end. If heart and motivation and prayers mean anything (and I believe they do) then we will succeed.
I will encourage all my friends and fellow Sheepdogs in West Chester to support you. We will make this happen and ensure that Travis’ heart and hopes always remain through you and keep our country strong and free.
Your friend and fellow patriot,

God Bless you Colonel and Mrs. Manion for your Service to our Country and for producing another great Marine leader in Travis Manion. From everything I have read, he was a special son and leader of men. This country is blessed by those who serve, past, present, and future. And I appreciate his service to our great country.
Good luck in your endeavor to be elected to Congress, Mr. Manion – a fitting tribute to your son and fellow Marine! I will contribute to your cause. We need leaders in Congress to keep this country on the right track for all Americans, men of integrity to do what is right for the nation. I believe you are one of those men. Again, good luck to you and to your family in all you do.
Semper Fidelis,

Great story Tom, and my condolences to you and your family. The sad truth in this country is that people have stopped talking about our armed services at War, simply put, I feel many in power don’t want this on the front pages for their own selfish political agendas. The coverage is almost non-existent and putting a yellow ribbon on the back of a vehicle just doesn’t cut it in my book. The only true way to show respect for those fallen is to fight for the truth and inform the public as to why things have occurred the way they have.
While some might view those markings in Doylestown as more of a political point, I see it more in the vein of keeping the brave men and women we’ve lost in this war on our minds, so that we never forget, just like those we lost on 911. Many Republican run towns have very similar markings they do to remember the fallen, and I strongly believe it’s the least we can do. It’s one thing if a foreign enemy would do this, but these are Americans, and I view this as patriotic notion at the very least. As Americans, we must all remember, Soldiers from both parties and Independents are losing their lives.
Supporting these guys when they come home is a very important issue to many, and that includes the best possible mental and physical care humanly possible. They should at least be given the same outstanding coverage that our elected leaders get, and sadly, this is just not the case. I hope you, Tom, stand with many bipartisan efforts on the issue to better support our guys and gals coming home. Substandard hospitals and substandard health care for our troops needs to be something of great concern that needs desperate attention. I know too many vets coming home that simply do not feel they are getting the proper treatment they feel they need, nor do their families. Here in Bucks, most of us are lucky enough to come from successful backgrounds and great family support, but many soldiers simply don’t have a “Bucks County” to come home too.
While I’ve lost someone close to me in this War, it does need to be said that not all have the same view on this War, especially our troops who vary in their beliefs. These men and women should have every chance in this free country of ours to voice their opinion and speak out when they feel the need. If anyone deserves to speak, it’s our armed services, who cannot speak out when under command.
Tom, I would love to hear more from you on these issues, not just the typical party line, but from the heart. Many independents are looking for candidates that can talk for themselves and not stand with a single party on almost all issues, like we’ve seen with other candidates.
Well, I’m young not even in high school but i love politics and a lot of kids don’t. Im a republican, but mostly a centralist, and i think it’s good to have someone like you who knows how soldiers feel in Iraq. I am learning about your opponent, Patrick Murphy, and i think u are smarter in the fields of issues. I believe that everyone in this country, owes the country something, and if Im drafted to Iraq, i know that I am fighting for respect, honor, and love for my country. If i could vote i would vote for you, cause your smart on politics, and respect America a whole lot.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family, Tom. Thank you for stepping up and running for Congress. Our country needs more people like you and your son, Travis. I’m certain he is extremely proud of you! What a way to honor his memory to continue to serve our great country! I think each and every American should follow Travis’ motto “If not me then who” ….just imagine the difference it would make! I wish you were running for President! You have my vote!
